Admission requirements

Academic background

  • For candidates studying in Belgium at a Flemish higher educational institution: a master's degree. (Our programs have received accreditation as advanced master's degrees (ma-na-ma’s) from the Flemish government.)
  • For other candidates: a master’s degree from a recognized institution OR a 3 or 4-year bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.

* All applications will be evaluated and reviewed by the admissions team during the application process. For some degrees, there may be additional requirements.

Students with already several years of work experience in different sectors are also welcome, although this is not required.

If you are not sure whether you qualify, feel free to email your resume (CV) and transcripts to our admissions team (admissions@ams.ac.be).

Proof of English proficiency

All of our master’s programs are taught in English. To ensure that you can follow everything smoothly, a good knowledge of the language is a must.

English native speakers, students who completed their higher education in English and graduates of master's programs in Belgium do not need to submit proof. However, if necessary, the admission committee may request an additional English language test based on your performance during the admission interview.

In any other case, you will be asked to prove your language skills anyway. This can be done in several ways:

  • with an overall TOEFL iBT score between 79 and 93
  • with an overall IELTS band score of 6.5
  • with an overall Duolingo score of 110
  • with a minimum PTE score of 56
  • with a minimum TOEIC score of 685
  • with a minimum CAE score of 176
  • via evaluation during a face-to-face interview

Application procedure

  1. Create an AMS profile and fill in the online application form.
  2. After completing your application dossier, you will be invited to complete two online surveys (no practice needed)
  3. This is followed by a personal interview. This can be done online or face-to-face at our campus. In this interview, we gauge your personality, motivation, perseverance, leadership skills and knowledge of English.

The application process is complete, now all you have to do is wait. Within 1 to 2 weeks you will receive our answer, so you can start planning your future at AMS.

We do charge an application fee of €50 for each application submitted, which is non-refundable. We don’t offer application fee waivers.

Program-specific criteria

All of our master’s programs follow the same criteria, although some specializations have some additional requirements. So be sure to look carefully at the "Practical Information" tab of the master’s program of your choice to make sure you don't overlook anything.

Application deadline

To ensure close involvement with the professors, fellow students and the school, we admit only a limited number of students for each program. Therefore, we advise you to enroll as soon as possible to secure your spot.

The application deadline for students who need a visa for Belgium is June 1, 2025. This will ensure that you have enough time to arrange all necessary paperwork.

For students who don't need a visa, the deadline is August 30.

Start the application procedure

Every year we only accept a select amount of candidates. We advise you to start the noncommittal application process as soon as possible.
