Admission requirements
Academic background
- For candidates studying in Belgium at a Flemish higher educational institution: a master's degree. (Our programs have received accreditation as advanced master's degrees (ma-na-ma’s) from the Flemish government.)
- For other candidates: a master’s degree from a recognized institution OR a 3 or 4-year bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
For this master's program, a degree in economics or business or CFA level 1 is required. If you don't have a degree in these subjects, the admissions team might require you to take an online premaster course to make sure you know the basic principles in finance.
* All applications will be evaluated and reviewed by the admissions team during the application process. For some degrees, there may be additional requirements.
Students with already several years of work experience in different sectors are also welcome, although this is not required.
If you are not sure whether you qualify, feel free to email your resume (CV) and transcripts to our admissions team (admissions@ams.ac.be).
Proof of English proficiency
All of our master’s programs are taught in English. To ensure that you can follow everything smoothly, a good knowledge of the language is a must.
English native speakers, students who completed their higher education in English and graduates of master's programs in Belgium do not need to submit proof. However, if necessary, the admission committee may request an additional English language test based on your performance during the admission interview.
In any other case, you will be asked to prove your language skills anyway. This can be done in several ways:
- with an overall TOEFL iBT score between 79 and 93
- with an overall IELTS band score of 6.5
- with an overall Duolingo score of 110
- with a minimum PTE score of 56
- with a minimum TOEIC score of 685
- with a minimum CAE score of 176
- via evaluation during a face-to-face interview
