A sustainable strategy with impact
Organizations today are faced with new forces in their competitive environment. Disruptive powers are at work to completely change the known business dynamics. The air transport value chain is changing rapidly, and the airline value proposition is blurring. Traditional distribution channels and business models are being challenged. The ubiquity of ‘new’ business models and markets enforces new ways of working. As a senior manager, you face a crucial challenge: how to effectively develop and implement a sustainable strategy with impact?
Our faculty will guide you through the entire process of formulating and implementing a strategy that leads your organization to success. This is a continuous process, based on 2 equally important pillars:
→ formulate and execute your strategy
→ claim and capture the ‘added value’ in the air transport value chain associated with transformation
In this way, we go beyond classic strategy programs. You will not only receive the necessary know-how, tips and tricks to strengthen your strategy, you will also go through a number of case studies, workshops and personal assignments. This course will both reinforce you as a strategically thinking manager and sharpen your skills to formulate, dissect and structure your organization’s and competitors’ strategies.
Airline business models and strategies
During this Master Class, you will dive into several business models and strategies employed by airlines and analyze their key attributes: products, networks, schedules, fleets, pricing, distribution, and capacity management. Furthermore, you will explore emerging concepts such as multi-brand strategies, ultra-low-cost carriers, mega hub connectors, virtual airlines, and airline-within-airline business models.
We cover all stakeholders, ranging from the central player, the airline, to the integral components of the industry, such as airports, air navigation suppliers and ground handlers.
Essential frameworks such as comparative analysis, SWOT analysis, the Business Model Canvas, the Boston Consulting Group matrix, the Porter quadrant, and game theory will help you dissect and formulate effective airline strategies.
You will work on a viable and bankable business plan to set up an airline from scratch. The theory discussed in class will be immediately applied into the business plan, which will allow you to see the airline becoming reality step by step.
