Prof. Dr. Ann Verhetsel takes over from Prof. Dr. Marc De Ceuster who, succeeding the founder and inspirer Prof. Dr. em. Robert Vanstraelen, directed the MRE program for many years. He opted for new commitments, we wish him all the best.

In a new advisory board Ann Verhetsel, together with the dean of AMS, Prof. Dr. Steven De Haes, the program management (Bert De Vos and Magda Jakubczak), the chairmen of the Real Estate Society (RES) and representatives of the faculty and the real estate market, will prepare an ambitious future for the MRE program.

Prof. Ann Verhetsel has been involved since the start of the MRE program, already 25 years ago, as lecturer and academic responsible for the pillar real estate markets and location. Most alumni know her from her classes in regional economics and business location, and especially from the urban geography excursions to London and Paris.

Prof. Ann Verhetsel is Professor in areas at the interface of Geography, Economics and Urban Planning at the University of Antwerp in the Faculty of Business and Economics (FBE), where she is head of the Department of Transport and Regional Economic (TPR). Since 2018 she is also the president of the Vereniging Ruimte en Planning (VRP).
