Human Resources
The Flemish Climate Adaptation Plan (VKAP) should further prepare Flanders for the effects of climate change in the short term (by 2030) and in the longer term (by 2050) and promises to have a profound impact on various sectors and the labor market in Flanders. But what does this mean for your sector? What opportunities does it bring and what challenges are lurking? And how can you concretely prepare for it?
The VIONA research program examined a human capital roadmap for the Flemish Climate Adaptation Plan. In this webinar, AMS researchers Engelina Chaillet, Kateryna Podkalenko and Kirsten Vanderplanken present the findings of their research, divided into three crucial areas:- Employment: Discover how the VKAP can lead to both job creation and job loss, and what strategies are in place to retain jobs.
- Competencies: Learn about the new skills needed in the era of climate adaptation and how to address a skills mismatch.
- Work Quality: Explore the impact of climate change on the workload and mental well-being of workers and discover how awareness and action are critical.
Through an exploration of a human capital roadmap, we offer concrete insights and strategic guidance for a just and inclusive labor market in the age of climate change.
